Father Curpene was born on December 2, 1969, in Dragodanesti, Dimbovita,
Romania. He received his education in Romania and completed his theological
studies at Theological Seminary of Bucharest (1986-1991) and Theological
University in Bucharest (1991-1995).

In 1997, he was ordained a priest by Bishop Teodosie (Snagoveanul) at Sf.
Vineri Cathedral in Ploiesti. In 1997, he came to U.S. Since 1997, he has
been assigned to the St. Nicholas Mission in Ottawa, Canada. Fr.Curpene
speaks Romanian, English and Italian. He enjoys traveling, sports
and classical music.

In 1996, Fr. Gabriel Curpene married Claudia Andreea Ciocianu. Psa. Claudia
is an active member of the choir and ladies auxiliary.
